Marco: *leaning against the ship’s railing, watching the horizon* *speaks quietly to himself* Endless sea. That’s what this world of ours is. Why we humans, creatures that cannot breathe or even drink salt water, would live in such a world as this is a mystery. But we do. Every day. We have no choice. We have to survive. Survive for what, I’m not sure. Land is simply a far off dream. Safety and happiness are a myth. Avoiding capture and pirates is all that characterizes this endless ocean existence. I wish I could just fly away from it all…
*a person walks out on deck and slaps Marco the back*
Person: Talking to ourselves again are we?
Marco: ! *almost loses his balance and falls overboard**looks back angrily* HEY! WATCH IT!!
Person: *laughs* You always overreact. You know I’d grab you if you fell.
Marco: *turns away and grumbles for a moment, then looks at the horizon once more*
The world consists of a seemingly endless ocean, on which humanity forever drifts in makeshift boats. Islands exist, but are often too risky to approach due to pirates that stalk them, waiting for a human ship to land to replenish supplies or rest. Some islands are even purposely stocked with supplies to attract more human ships. Due to the danger of the collectors and pirates when visiting islands, many human ships resort to becoming pirates as well, stealing their needs from other ships in order to survive.
However, pirates are not the only threat to the ships. A race of beings known as Nodo Brankhai, a race of evolved, technologically advanced humanoid sea slugs, provide what may be the single greatest threat to humanity’s existence. To them, humans are simply another resource to exploit. Therefore, they send out ships, known as Human Collectors, to hunt down human ships and capture the humans aboard for use as laborers. Nodos typically dwell in massive, disc shaped metal cities that float atop the ocean. The typical Nodo is roughly the same height as a human, and very similar in body structure, albeit much more gelatinous to the touch and covered in bright colors, spots, stripes, and frills, with some even possessing clear or translucent skin. Nodos also possess the ability to stretch and manipulate the shape of their bodies, extend their eyes as stalks, and change their skin colors. Nodos are also boneless. Don’t ask how they keep their form or anything. Just accept that they don’t and shut up. …Also, they can only be exposed to direct sunlight for so long before needing to be submerged in water for a short bit to moisten up.
The Nodo Brankhai’s main weapon in capturing humans and fighting pirates are mecha. Most mecha come in two forms. The first form is an inactive form, which usually takes the form of an inanimate object or small animal (or in rare cases, a humanoid being such as a robot or “human”). The second form is the active form, which is the robot’s true form. Appearance may vary, but all mecha generally possess four limbs, a head, and a cockpit in which the pilot can operate the mecha. The appearance of both forms the mecha takes are influenced by the mecha’s pilot’s personality, memories, and emotions and may change if the mecha switches pilots or the current pilot goes through a personality or emotional switch. However, some details remain constant regardless, such as head shape, color, etc. (this last little bit isn’t too important really, just so you all know)
HUMANS CAN HAVE MECHA~ They would have just had to take them from a Nodo, pirate, or be given it by the human who previously owned it~
There are a few other facts that will be revealed as the RP goes along.

A random nameless ship
Captain: Capt. Corrain
Description: This ship is the standard ratty, bleak, hopeless ship that sails the seas hoping only to survive. It’s offensive forces consist of several cannons and a rusted old mecha piloted by Corrain.
The #1
Captain: Capt. End
Description: The greatest ship in the world, according to Captain End. It’s crew members consist only of those its captain deems as great and lives by stealing from those that aren’t great. Most, if not all of the ship’s crew members are fiercely loyal to their captain, who rescued most of them from Nodos years ago. The #1’s offensive forces consist of several mecha, cannons, and numerous firearms.
