I TOLD YOU THAT I WAS ENDING OFF THIS CHRISTMAS BREAK WITH A BANG, AND I EFFING MEANT IT, BIZNITCHES!
*ahem* With that aside, I give to you... a possible last one-shot until the summer holidays. Depends on how well my online classes turn out.
Here is...
In a small living room in a house in Johto, there were two very identical-looking young men. Both had red hair, and very stunning silver eyes. They also had very similar attitudes: battle to be the best, and step on whoever you can to get there. One could almost mistake them for twins. However, there were very subtle differences that set them apart.
For one, the younger of the two, named Jaden at birth, had red hair that looked almost like fire. The older of the two, named Kamon at birth, had red hair that was soft in hue. Kamon used to be very cruel to his Pokemon, whereas Jaden was very compassionate. Kamon aspired to stay in Johto to become the best trainer out there, while Jaden wanted to travel the world to find his place. Another subtle difference was that these boys were not twins as everyone thought. Kamon was the older brother, and Jaden was the younger.
Yet, for the many differences that Kamon and Jaden shared, they also shared many similarities. For one, neither of them liked their birth name very much: Kamon chose the nickname of Silver. Jaden, ever the one to look up to his older brother from the time they were kids, took the name Chrome. For two, neither of them liked their birth father very much, which is only a small part in this story. Lastly, both of them grew distant and began to loathe each other… sort of. That is a large part of this story.
Silver wanted to distance himself from his entire family, and that included his kid brother. He felt that any ties he had to his father were ties worth breaking. So when he turned 11 years old, he went off on his own. But, not wanting to be picked up by the police for theft AND neglect, he left his kid brother in the care of his mother’s sister, who lived in the Shokiko region. This is how Chrome and Hannah met. But that’s a story for another time.
As the boys became older, they still remained distant. Chrome had tried for years to change his brother’s nature, to no avail. He tried again in this meeting, but Silver still stood firm. He wanted to deal with their father, Giovanni, on his own. With that, he dismissed his younger brother. With the door shut in his face, Chrome became very hurt by his brother’s actions. But when they were kids, Chrome learned that if you shed a tear in front of Silver, it was fair game to get punched in the arm. Knowing that he was fighting a losing battle, Chrome decided to depart back to Shokiko.
Meanwhile, a certain Volcano legendary watched the whole scene unfold. He decided to take it upon himself to bring the two brothers together again…
